Just who Palesa Morudu is, is of no real value. Just why she thinks she has a right to comment is equally irrelevant. But why she thinks that Jacob Zuma is beneath our vote, is reason to get hot under the collar.

(Read her piece at http://www.thetimes.co.za/PrintEdition/Article.aspx?id=939146)

I poke fun at Mrs. Zille, every day on this website, precisely because I understand her fear. I too am white. I too, have suffered the loss of power and position. And while I poke fun at our great white lady, I think I understand the madness of her night. I believe that she means well, and when no one is looking, I’m glad for people like her.

But Mrs. Morudu scares me.

Badly!

Very badly.

And she should scare you too.

She writes for COPE, you may have heard of them, they are a recent break away from the ANC.. They campaign for good governance and an end to the excesses of the ANC. Which, dear reader, would be great if it was true.

BUT

And, it’s a very big, big BUT.

But, dear reader, nothing could be further from the truth.

The very tyranny of the Truth !

You see, when I was young, I was very fortunate to study at the feet of a great teacher. Her name is not important here. Neither are her adequate qualifications, nor the prestige of the institute that employed her. NO ! What matters is what she drummed into our skulls, day in and day out. That history repeats itself, and those who failed to notice, were doomed to repeat it themselves.

Oh yes, the very very wise words of Mrs. Hummel, still rattle around in this very tired brain.

The truth dear reader is very elusive.

Mrs. Hummel taught me that.

I am forever in her debt.

The terrible truth, dear reader lies in the history and the purpose of COPE.

Just who these new campaigners of truth are dear reader is right on the page before you.

Now, they speak of freedom.

Now they speak of accountability.

Now they speak of truth.

And my soul does wretch.

So should yours.

Who are these new great Knights of democracy and decency?

I shall tell you.

They are the men and women of our last great corruption. They are the co-horts of Mbeki and the legacy that he has left. They are nothing more than the degeneration of our great democracy into passé African tribalism. They are the Xhosa tribal forefront. They are, dear reader, nothing more than the reaction to a Zulu leader.

They are the Xhosanostra.

After having plundered our land, and left us the victims of corruption and tribalism, they, not an ashamed one among them, point fingers at the new regime, crying like their tribal boss, Mbeki, corruption and lawlessness. Yet they are the very ones who led us to this terrible trough.

And, as if that was not enough, they seek to reduce our democracy into a tribal struggle for pe-eminence, with us the protagonists of their disgusting suggestion, the bloodied bodies of the coming bloodshed ?

Do you believe, is your memory so short?

Forget, dear reader, of Mobuto, and Idi Amin.

We.

We, the rainbow nation, have bent, buckled and bowed, under the corruption of a tribal government.

We have watched our neighbors in Zimbabwe slide into a hell, for the benefit of Mbeki and his buddy Uncle Bob.

We have seen corruption in our police force, and watched, as the scorpions became the private army of Thabo.

We have watched as the Government has enriched its own.

We have stood by the slapping of our national icons.

We have withstood the sacking of our country by this bunch in pursuit of their own enrichment.

And now.

Now.

On the eve of change.

These same men are crying truth and democracy.

Vote for us.

Not ANC!

Not for Zuma.

He’s corrupt!

A rapist!

A criminal !

And they are praying, not just that you’ll forget what they did, and that you’ll believe lies, innuendo, and rumour.

Mrs. Morudo begins her column for COPE in last weeks Sunday Times by quoting Marx.

“Hegel remarks somewhere that all facts and personages of great importance in world history occur, as it were, twice.”

She adds, as postcript, that he forgot to include : “The first time as tragedy, the second as farce.”

Ahh, just like Mbeki, whom you may recall came to power by hook and crook and the terrible assassination of Chris Hani. Our last great Xhosnostra,  who did not believe in HIV, or accountability or the great traditions of the ANC, by the way.

Who too, was a great follower of Marx.

This particular hack remembers when he spoke of the African Renaissance, then he meant the second phase of a Marxist revolution, how fitting that they invoke our crazy, apocalyptic prophet yet again.

Now it’s something else.

Remember Mrs. Hummel and her lessons ?

Morudo asks “ senzeni na?”

What have we done indeed ?

We have tribalised our democracy, well beyond the conceptions of CODESA, that’s what we’ve done Morudo

The simple reality, dear reader, is that if you look behind the so called break up of the ANC you immediately see this terribly troubling tribal pattern. The Xhosa reaction to a Zulu leader, its been simmering under Mbeki for so long. Now Xhosa separatists have found their new home.

The Xhosanostra is alive and well.

Well, to be honest, the Xhosanostra have been running the show for some time now. This break away is merely an attempt to continue to hold on to power, by smoke, mirror hook or crook.

They have become COPE!

Extraordinarily enough, Morudo blames Jacob Zuma’s attempts to clear his name, from charges that originate well within our Xhosanostra, as the Mobutofication of African politics.

The Cheek!

This little breakaway faction of Tribal focus is nothing more than the first tentative steps to tribal conflict, and all this under the banner of freedom and democracy.

Do not be deceived, if you have ever wondered how our neighbors slipped into civil war, and genocide, this, dear reader, is how it begins, to fanfare and lip-sync references to freedom and truth and justice and democracy.

On top of this Morudo wants you to answer the question, “ Is Zuma really the best that South Africa can produce. “

Read “ are Zulu’s good enough ?”

Dear reader, beware the Xhosanostra.

They are here.

And they won’t give up without a fight.

The Spiral into Civil War ?

The Spiral into Civil War ?

Fizzy Bubelech is a not widely known reference to champagne… yes…let them eat cake ? Then again, perhaps we should all get drunk on the good stuff, while we can

Interesting – a very well put argument.
